Tilda with Sock Puffs

Hi everyone,

I hope you are well and having a good week. Blimey this new blogger thing takes a bit of getting used to.

This is just a quick post to share a card I made recently using another Maggie from the new collection Aspen Holidays. She is called Tilda with Sock Puffs. I have masked her with an older Maggie, Winter Bench and added some glamour dust to the seat to give the impression of snow.

The papers are by Maja, but sorry I can't remember the name of them, I have edged them with white gesso.

I  stamped her onto Artistico Extra White paper, cut it out using an oval die and added some string pearls to the outside edge.

Instead of colouring the buttons on her coat, I've added a few pearl gems.

Most of the embellishments are from my stash, but I have added some links at the bottom of my post where I can.

DI list:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen
Coat and Boots: Victorian Velvet
Bench: Gathered Twigs

There is still plenty of time to enter the current challenge (snow or glitter) at Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia we would love you to join us.

That's it from me today.

Thank you for popping in.

Take care.

New Challenge at Fussy or Fancy

Good morning everyone,

Happy Friday to you, I wish you all a lovely crafty weekend.

This morning we have a new challenge at Fussy and Fancy. The lovely Annie is hosting this challenge.

Annie has chosen Different Folds/Shaped Cards for her theme.
It doesn't have to be complicated just slightly different from what you would normally make. There are so many ideas out there.... easel cards, gatefold cards, stepper cards, fold back front cards etc.

Well that put me slightly out of my comfort zone as you know me I nearly always make easel cards. I chose to make an accordion card which you would think is pretty easy, it certainly didn't go smoothly, but I got there in the end.

I coloured up two of my new Maggies from the Aspen Holiday collection, they are Poinsettia Tilda and Holly Wreath Tilda. I have coloured them with DI reinkers.

As you have probably noticed I can't make a card without embellishments so I added a few flowers, lace and jingle bells and a bit of pearl trim to make a border on every other panel.

On the inside panels I have embossed a Christmas text stamp in gold embossing powder and added some pearl trim around the edges.

The third panel features Holly Wreath Tilda and on the back which silly me forgot to photograph  is where I have  mounted some plain ivory card, stamp embossed some holly leaves  and where you can write your sentiment.

DI list:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen
Red: Barn Door, Aged Mahogany
Green: Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters

Our sponsor for this challenge is:

Well that's it from me today.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Reminder Card - Paradise of Stamps - Tilda with Little Rudolph

Good morning everyone,

I hope you are all well, sorry I have been MIA. The last few weekends have been very busy and I've not had much time to craft so I have been playing catch up.

This is my reminder card for the current challenge at the Paradise of Stamps and the theme is a super easy 'Anything Goes'.

I have coloured up one of the new Maggies, from the Aspen Holiday collection called Tilda with Little Rudolph, she is so cute. I have coloured her with DI reinkers.

Along the left hand side is a Joy ice crystals die. I have created a 3D effect by cutting the dies out separately and placing them over the top finishing off with silver bubble gems.

The die on the right hand side is also by Joy and its one of my favourites 8 point die. On top I have place a silver 'Joy' charm.

I have sprinkled twinklets over the top of the rose which gives a lovely frosty look to it and added some decorative snow balls, silver balls and a few pine cones which have been painted with gesso.

Underneath the flowers on the left hand side is a sledge which is another joy die.

To finish the card off I have added some embroidered and gathered lace and placed some drop pearl trim on top.

The white organza ribbon is from the Ribbon Girls.

DI list:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen
Coat & Hat: Hickory Smoke
Boots and Reindeer: Gathered Twigs

That's it from me today.

Thank you for popping in and for the wonderful comments you leave me, I really appreciate them.

New Card Challenge at the Ribbon Girl - LOTV Christmas Flowers

Good morning my lovelies,

I hope you are having a lovely weekend. I went to the craft fair at the NEC yesterday so I am recovering from sore feet, but I had a wonderful time, there weren't as many of the big named companies there, and it didn't seem so busy this year, but that meant you could get to the stands more easily and actually see the goodies.  I spent far too much money, but hey ho what else is a girl to do when they are shouting buy me???

Anyway, this morning we have a new card challenge at Ribbon Girl

The challenge is 'Anything Goes', any theme, any shape as long as it's a card.

I have coloured a new stamp from LOTV called Christmas Flowers with distress ink reinkers, most of my cards this year seem to be non-traditional colours, I didn't set out to do that, it just happened. I saw that the Ribbon Girl had some lovely new flowers in which were perfect to use and from them I knew exactly what colour I wanted to use for the main colour. I finished the image off by sprinkling some white frantage to give the look of falling snow and some glamour dust for the lying snow.

I cut the shape of the card using a Spellbinders oval die and added some ice crystals from a Joy die. The papers are by Maja, not that you can see them lol, I cut three layers and painted some gesso around the edges. Tucked underneath the second layer is some beautiful medium white pom pom trim. The Lilac flowers are new to shop, I added some white gesso around the edges of the petals, The magnolia flower has had some twinklets added to it to give it some sparkle and a frosty look. Then to finish of the flower spray I added a couple of pink beaded cherries.

I have used two different laces, Charlotte Elizabeth vintage lace and White Frilled lace and the ribbon I used for the bow is Pale Fuschia plain sheer.

Attached to one of the pom poms is a beautiful diamante star charm.

DI list:

Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Walunt Stain, Antique Linen
Coat and Boots: Victorian Velvet
Scarf: Victorian velvet, Hickory Smoke

Leaves: Fores Moss, Shabby Shutters, Pine Needles
