Create an Easel Card using Prismacolor Pencils and Dies

Hi everyone,

Happy Bank Holiday Monday. It is forecast to be another beautiful day here in the south of the U.K, I hope it is wherever you are.

Today I am sharing another Polkadoodles card to hopefully inspire you.

This week I have stamped up the very elegant Primrose stamp from the Darling Buds collection (she is also available as a black and white digis), but this time I have coloured her with Prismacolor pencils, I haven't coloured with pencils for years, so you will have to excuse my colouring.

I stamped her onto kraft card, sorry I don't know the make of it, but it was a little dark when it came to colouring the skin, I think I would prefer a lighter shade of kraft. I personally don't think the skin turned out very well. I didn't use any solvent to blend the colours, I used the burnishing techique which involes layering different shades of coloured pencils. To begin with I lightly covered the area with the lightestest colour pencils and then started adding the darker colours to add more depth, but each time I would go back over with the lightest shade over the top.

Colour list:
Skin: 945, 947, 948, 1080
Hair: 947, 1085,1094
Dress: 901, 903, 919,1027, 1103
Flowers: 993, 994, 1018
Leaves: 912, 989, 1091

To finish off, I sprinkled on some shabby white frantage around the outside of the image.

The papers I used are from the Eden Jane Plain Paper 1 and Eden Jane Paper 3 digis collection.

To create the pretty trellis on each side of the card, I die cut the oval trellis die onto brown card, just once and cut it in half. I dipped it into my clear versamark stamp pad, sprinkled it with shabby pink frantage and heat set it with my heat gun.

I die cut the leaves using the super sprigs die and left over scraps from the blue paper, and tucked them under the flowers.

That's all from me today.

Thank you for popping in.

Take care and stay safe.

Hi everyone,

I hope you have had a good extended weekend.

We have a new challenge begining this evening at Ally's Angels. The theme as always is ......

Anything Goes

I have created another criss cross card, my new favourite style. For the image, I have used one of my old Maggies called Tilda with Heart Rice and I've coloured her with distress reinkers.

Where possible, I have added links to the materials I have used. Just click on the picture of the product to take you directly to it.

Colour list:

Hair: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen
Dungarees: Stormy Sky, Black Soot
Blouse: Seedless Preserves
Shoes: Stormy Sky
Flowers: Seedless Preserves, Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters

For the sentiment, I cut out a smaller panel and die cut two tabs, glued them onto the top, strung some ribbon through and added some pearl gems. I cut out two different sized circular dies and mounted the smaller of the two onto the largest. The sentiment is from a Polkadoodles set of stamps. The stand has been cut from Joy Crafts die.

Peeping out of the top of my card is the very beautiful Heart Flourish die which I have tucked underneath the image. Once cut all the bits just literally fell out of the die.

Here I cut out two of the banner dies from the Posydoodles Tag set of dies using scraps left over from the Avalene papers and stamped on two of the sentiments from the fabulous Super Sentiments set of clear stamps and tucked them underneath the flowers.

Feminie Card for the New Challenge at Creative Inspirations

Good morning everyone,

I hope you are all well.

Today I am sharing a card I made for the new challenge at Creative Inspirations. The challenge theme for this month is......

Fabulously Femine
it's all about creating something for a female.

For my card I have coloured up one of the new beautiful Winnie digis as Polkadoodles are one of our new sponsors sponsoring us this year. I have taken  this opportunity to use lots of the gorgeous Polkadoodles products.

The gorgeous cutie is from the beautiful new Winnie Sunshine Delights collection and is called 'Busy'. She is available as a black and white or pre-coloured image.

Links the products I have used are below each picture of my card, just click on a picture to be taken directly to the product.

Peeping out of the top of the card is a hidden tag, which pulls out. To create the tag I cut one of the Posydoodle Tags from the basics set of tags, and stamped the sentiment using three of the stamps from the Super Sentiments set of clear stamps.I painted chipboard piece with white gesso and glued it to the top of the tag finishing it off with a whit pear flat back gem.

The pretty heart has been cut using the Heart Flourish die, which I have cut in white card.

To create the flower, I cut the two smallest of the very pretty Flower Flourish dies with the scraps left over from the pink paper and some white card for the top layer. The tag is again one of the dies from the Posydoodles Basics Tags set and I stamped the sentiment again using two of the stamps from the Super Sentiments stamp set.
