A Criss Cross Card with Helga Hippo Flower Girl and Pretty Dies

Good morning,

I hope you all had a good weekend. The weather here in the south of the U.K. has been absolutely gorgeous for the past couple of weeks, I have done so much in the garden and just seeing the sun shining cheers me up.

Anyway on with the task in hand. I am popping in to share some more Polkadoodles inspiration with you. Over the Easter holidays, I had a bit more time to play and made a criss cross card, which I really enjoyed making, in fact I got a bit carried away and have made a few now.

Links the products I have used are below each picture of my card, just click on a picture to be taken directly to the product.

I have coloured up the very cute Helga Hippo Flower Girl, she is such a delight to colour. The grey skin tones were coloured with Zig Water colour pens and the dress, hat and flowers with distress reinkers. The speckles around the outside of the image is shabby white frantage which has been heated from underneath with a heat gun. Although the white is not in stock at the moment, the shabby pink would look amazing on this card.

I printed Helga onto Artistico extra white water colour paper and cut the square shape with one of the Posydoodles square dies before colouring her.

Colour list:
Skin: 902 (Natural Grey), 096 (Mid Grey), 091 (Light Grey) (Zigs)
Cheeks: Worn Lipstick (distress reinker)
Dress and Hat: Bundled Sage (distress reinker)
Bow and Flowers: 200 (Almond Pink (Zig), Victorian Velvet (distress reinker)
Leaves: Froest Moss, Shbby Shutters (distress reinkers)

I used papers from two paper pads for this card. The pink paper is from Timesless Rose and the green from Blushing Blooms.

The flower flourish dies are absolutely beautiful and come in a set of three different sizes. I have also added some of the gorgrous sprigs cut from the Super Sprigs die.

I have just got my hands on the Super Sentiments stamp set, you can do so many things with this brilliant set. I have cut out two of the banner dies from the Posydoodles Tag set and stamped two of the sentiments onto each banner.

For the removable insert, I cut out the Squarely Swirly Hearts die and printed the sentiment from Winnie Celebrations Kit 1 download.

New 'Anything Goes' Challenge at Ally's Angels

Hi everyone,

School is now on our Easter holiday break. We have had the most beautiful weather here in the south of the U.K. this week. I have been busying myself by tending to the garden, painting the fence and weeding and of course fitting in some crafting too.

We have a new Anything Goes challenge at Ally's Angels beginning this evening.

For my card this month, I have coloured up a Tilda stamp called Hello Little Butterfly and masked her with the Open Gate stamp, both stamps are oldies.

The shape of the the card has been cut with a Crafts and You die.

I have coloured the scene with distres reinkers and sprinkled some shabby white frantage around the outside of the image.

DI list:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnust Stain
Dress: Seedless Preserves, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot
Boots: Seedless Preserves
Flowers: Vicotorian Velvet, Sedless Preserves, Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters
Gate: Gathered Twigs
Grass: Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters

Once I had cut the dies cuts, I lightly pressed them into a Versamark clear ink pad, sprinkled on some shabby pink frantage and heat set them with my heat gun.

All the embellishments are from my own craft stash.

The lucky winner of this challenge will win this lovely prize:

Pretty Square Tent Card Coloured with Distres Reinkers and Zig Pens

Morning everyone,

I hope you are well and had a restful weekend and are coping with this very challenging situation we are all in.

To hopefully brighten your day, I'm back to share some more Polkadoodles inspiration.

For my card this time I have made a tent design.  I have used another gorgeous stamp from the Darling Buds collection and she is called 'Primrose'.

Links to the materials I have used are at the bottom of this post, just click on a picture to be taken directly to the product.

I stamped her with a stazon timber brown ink pad onto a piece of Artistico extra white watercolour paper. The sentiment and the flowers are included with the Primrose stamp.

To create the frame, I die cut two different size square frames, cutting the dies and paper together, this way you can be sure of an exact fit and placed some large foam pads on the back to give it some height.

Before gluing the frame in place, I placed some lace behind it, and added some glue to the foam pads to give me some wiggle time.

To create the polka dots on the dress, I dotted on some pebeo drawing gum, waited a short while to let it dry before starting colouring. IUt can be rubbed off once you have finished colouring.

I have mainly coloured her with distress reinkers, but have added a touch of zig pens to the flowers.

To finish off the scene, I sprinkled on some shabby white frantage around the outside of the image and heat set it from underneath with my heat gun and added a few pearls to the centre of the flowers.

DI list of colours:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain,
Dress: Victorian Velvet
Flowers: Victorian Velvet, Pink (Zig), Scattered Straw, Lemon Yellow (Zig), Yellow (Zig)
Leaves, Bundled Sage

The pretty pink polka dot paper is from the Blushing Blooms paper pad. There are 25 sheets, 3 of each design.

The gorgeous sprigs have been cut twice in green card and placed them underneath the flowers.

 Super Sprigs Die

For the inside of the card, I have used another piece of the pink polka dot paper, and the left over square from the centre of the frame from the front of the card and I have cut the beautiful Squarey Wirly Heart die, stamping the sentiment in the middle.

The sentiment is from the Spring Wishes stamp set.

I hope you like my little piece of inspiration.

Take care and look after yourselves.

Happy crafting:)
