New Challenge at Fussy and Fancy - Tilda with Little Snowy

Good morning everyone,

Happy Friday to you all!

This morning I am sharing a card I made for the new challenge at Fussy and FancyJules is hosting this challenge and has chosen the theme 'Shabby Chic'.

Apologies in advance, but I have made another Christmas card, they are my favourite cards to make, so I am making as many as I can whilst I can.

This is Tilda with Little Snowy coloured with distress reinkers and I've sprinkled some white frantage around the image. Tucked underneath the image is some cheese cloth.

I haven't used paper on this card, but I have embossed white card using my absolute favourite embossing  folder by Crafters Companion 3D snowflake. Once embossed I have covered the card with silver pebeo gilding wax and painted white gesso around the edges.

The scrolled icicle edge along the left hand side has been cut in white card and glittered with glamour dust. I have also added some glamour dust to her hat.

The circle of ice crystals is a Joy Crafts die and I've added a few pearls to the centres.

The lace and cheese cloth are available from the Ribbon Girl.

Where possible, I have added the links to the materials I have used at the bottom of this page, just click on a picture to be taken directly to the product.

Di list:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Walnut stain, Antique Linen
Cloak, Hat and Boots: Victorian Velvet, Black Soot
Snowman: Hickory Smoke, Black Soot, Rusty Hinge

The winner of this challenge will win a GDT spot for an upcoming challenge.

That's it from me today.

Thank you for popping in.

Some Exciting News!

Good morning everyone,

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

This morning I am popping in to share some exciting news. I was asked by the very talented artist Dina Gerner to join the Digi Doodles DT. Sadly I couldn't commit to a card each week, but I have done the next best thing and joined as a Guest Designer, which means once a month I will showcasing her fabulous images.

If you want to pop over and have a look at her gorgeous images then you can find her shop here.  The challenge blog begins today and you can find it here and if you want to  follow the DT blog where one of the very talented team post their creations almost everyday, click  here.

As a celebration of anew release which includes autumn, halloween and Christmas/Winter we are having a blog hop. I am last in line, but don't forget to leave a comment on the Digi Doodles blog to say which one is your favourite. If you want to start at the beginning then hop over to Linda's blog.

I have coloured up Trixie and Zippy and what  a joy she was to colour. I decided to keep to traditional colours for this card.

As always I have coloured with distress ink reinkers  and sprinkled some frantage around the outside of the image. The border around the card is made of gold star trim.

The papers are a mixture from the Hobby House.

For the rolled up script, I inked up a Christmas text stamp onto coordinating paper with Versamark ink,  sprinkled some gold embossing powder over it and heat set it. To finish it off I edged the edges with walnut distress ink and rolled it tying it with some red twine.

The ivory pearl trim, and red twine are available at the Ribbon Girl.

The flowers are from my stash and the sprawling ferns have been cut from a Magnolia Doohickey die. The rose, fir cones and fern leaves have had touches of white gesso added to them.

DI list:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose
Hair: Gathered Twigs, Grand Espresso, Black Soot
Red: Barn Door, Aged Mahogany
Green: Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters
Dog and Gift: Gathered Twigs

Tilda with Holiday Sweater

Hi everyone,

I hope you have had a lovely week.

I am just popping in to share another Christmas card, I am so enjoying myself making them.

This is Tilda with Holiday Sweater coloured with distress ink reinkers.

Once again the embossing folders and gilding wax came out. I really love the 3D snowflake embossing folder by Crafters Companion.

I cut the card, embossed  and covered each piece with Pebeo gold gilding wax. I always get into a right mess using the wax, but my Mum shared a tip with me to let a baby wipe dry out and use that to add the wax instead of using my fingers. Next time I use it, I will give it a try.

The large ice crystal is a Joy Crafts die.

The ivory pearl string, pearl ivory trim, pom pom trim, pearl cluster, carnation and the lush golden pearl sparkle ribbon are from the Ribbon Girl.

DI list:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen
Jumper: Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Gathered Twigs, Worn Lipstick
Trousers: Gathered Twigs, Pumice Stone, Black Soot

Well that's it from me today.

Thank you for popping in.

Reminder card for the Paradise of Stamps

Good morning everyone,

Yay it's Friday, where did that week go? I hope you have all had a wonderful week.

I'm just popping in quickly to share my reminder card for the current challenge at the Paradise of Stamps. Our theme is 'Use your Favourite Things'.

This time I have chosen Christmas as they are my favourite cards to make and I have coloured up another Maggie, my favourite stamps.

This little cutie is called 'Berry Tilda'. I have coloured her with distress reinkers.

The snowflake die is a Sizzix on the edge die which I have cut twice and layered up. I have rubbed in some silver Pebeo silver gilding wax on the top layer.

My new favourite thing is to emboss card and use gilding wax, so each of the three layers have been embossed with a Crafters Companion 3D snowflake die and had gilding wax applied to them. I have also painted the edges of the layers with white gesso.

Tucked underneath the image are two Joy Crafts 8 point dies and the icicle is also cut from a Joy Crafts die and I've sprinkled some twinklets over the top which give it a lovely icy look. The sprawling ferns are a Magnolia Doohickey die.

The square pearl trim, pearl string and lace are from the Ribbon Girl and the flowers are from my stash. I have also sprinkled some twinklets over the roses.

Her wings have been sprinkled with glamour Dust.

DI list:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen
Dress: Hickory Smoke, Black Soot, Aged Mahogany
Berries: Barn Door, Aged Mahogany

Well that's it from me today.

Thank you for popping in.

Dreamerland Crafts - Just Dance with Me

Good morning my lovelies,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and were able to fit in some crafty time. As well as the doing the cleaning and ironing, I've started to tidy up the garden and I managed to fit in some crafty time too! The first week back at school was pretty busy and I have moved into my own office, that has taken some getting used to, but this weekend I bought some bits and pieces to make it more homely.

Anyway on with sharing my card for today. I have coloured up a stamp from  the new collection from Dreamerland Crafts which is called 'Just Dance with Me'

As you can see from the pic below the set includes a couple of dies, which means you can easily paper piece the skirt of the dress and the boys jumper.

It also includes two sentiments, a grass stamp and some flowers and butterflies.

I have coloured up the stamp with DI reinkers and sprinkled some frantage around the outside, finishing off with some ivory pearl string.

The papers are from an Anna Marie set of papers called Blissful Green.

The leaves have been cut from Joy Crafts dies and the swirl is a Magnolia Doohickey's die.

The ribbon and ivory pearl string are from the Ribbon Girl.

The flowers, bronze charm and the pearl rose are from my crafty stash.

DI list:

New Challenge Marvelous Magnolia - Show Me the Way Tilda

Hi everyone,

I'm back again with my last card of the day for the new Anything Goes challenge at Marvelous Magnolia.

Yay at long last, I have made a Christmas card, I love making them, they are favourite cards to make.

I have coloured up Show me the Way Tilda and Baby Rudolph with distress ink reinkers.

I haven't used any papers on this card, instead I have embossed some white and light blue card with a Crafters Companions 3D snowflake, and then rubbed some Pebeo Silver Gilding wax over the top also by Crafters Companion, the effect is gorgeous, it's a shame I have covered most of it up.

The ice crystal border down the left hand side is a Joy Crafts die, and I have also cut some separate ice crystals to layer on top. Once again I have cut them in white card and added the gilding wax and some gorgeous rhinestone sparklers to the centre.

The white pom pom trim, square pearl trim and the white organza ribbon are available from the Ribbon Girl.

The sprawling ferns tucked underneath the flowers are a Magnolia Doohickey die also cut in white card and gilding wax has been added. The flowers, pine cones and snowflake charm are from my stash.

New Challenge at the Paradise of Stamps - Country Girl Tilda

Morning everyone,

I am back with my second card of the day, if you are looking for the Fussy and Fancy card, please scroll down.

The Paradise of Stamps challenge returns today after our much needed summer break. I have joined in with Team A today as I chose this month's theme, so it seemed right that I should make a card for both teams.  My chosen theme is to use
'Your Favourtie Things'.

I have chosen Magnolia stamps, as they are my favourite, but also ribbon and lace because I can't make a card without them:)

I have masked Country Girl Tilda and Grandpa's Porch and coloured them with distress ink reinkers and sprinkled some Frantage around  the image.

I have inked the stamps with Stazon Timber Brown ink and stamped them on Artistico Extra White water colour paper, it is 300 gsm so more like card than paper.

The papers are by Maja from the Vintage Summer collection and are called 1923.

Tucked underneath the image is a heart shaped paper doily and a Joy Crafts die called 'Angle Butterflies'.

The lace and pom pom trim are from the Ribbon Girl.

The flowers, ribbon and pearl trim are from my stash.

DI list:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Walnut stain, Antique Linen
Skirt: Victorian Velvet, Black Soot
Blouse: Pumice Stone, Bundled Sage, Black Soot
Boots: Aged Mahogany, Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany, Black Soot
Grandpa's Porch: Hickory Smoke, Victorian Velvet, Black Soot
Flowers: Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany, Worn Lipstick, Black Soot
Foliage: Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters

Well that's all for now, but I will be back later with my third and final card for the day.

Thank you for popping in.

New Challenge at Fussy and Fancy

Good morning everyone,

I hope you have all had a good week!! Most of the the DTs that I design for are returning from their summer breaks so apologies in advance, but I will be posting 3 cards today.

This morning we have a new challenge over at Fussy and Fancy and our lovely Jo is hosting this challenge. She has chosen the theme Anything Goes Mixed Media.

Well that threw me, I am not good at being thrown out of my comfort zone, but below is what I came up with.

I made the flower with pink and white foamiran using the Rosy Owl Flower Dies (AC1) which is the larger of the two sets and popped some stamens into the centre.

I sprayed the layers of card with Lindy's Starburst sprays cotton candy pink and tiffanylou blue, then glued a few die cuts which I painted  with white gesso and added some more stardust spray. Once dry I used a couple of stencils and applied some modelling paste and some crushed ice.

The happy birthday tiles have also been painted with white gesso and I've place a few MDF bricks here and there also painted with gesso.

Underneath the flower I have placed a chipboard frame and a bow which is made from wax cotton cord.

The leaves and butterflies have been cut from a couple of Joy Crafts dies and the bird is also made from MDF which has been painted with gesso and I've added some crushed ice whilst the paint was wet.

The pearls are from my stash and the organza ribbon and pearl string is from the Ribbon Girl.

Th winner of this will join us in an upcoming challenge.

I will be popping back in later with another card.

Thank you for popping in.
