Polkadoodles Pretty Tent Card Featuring Holly Butterfly

Morning everyone,

I hope you are all well and a big welcome to my new followers:)

It's a tad hot here at the moment, a bit too hot for me, but I do like to see the sunshine:)

Today it's my turn to post some Polkadoodles inspiration.

This time I have coloured up a gorgeous image from the 'Holly digis collection and she is called 'Holly Butterfly'. She is available as a pre-coloured or black and white digis.

Links the materials I have used are below each picture of my card, just click on a picture to be taken directly to the product.

I printed Holly out onto Artistico water colour paper, die cut it using the fabulous elegant nest set of dies and have coloured her with distress reinkers. I  sprinkled some shabby white frantage around the outside of the image.

Shoes, Flower and Butterflies: Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry

Adalene 6 x 6" Paper pack

The lush papers are from the 'Adalene' paper pack which are a beautiful collection of shabby chic papers, just up my street. I distressed the edges with a distressing tool, but you can use scissors to do this.

To give the card some height, I cut the oval trellis die, cut it in half and slotted it in between the base paper and the card. The other half has been put to one side to use on another project.

For the sentiment, I have stamped up three of the fabulous super sentiment stamps (I love this set) onto two of the Posydoodles tag dies.

I cut the delicate daisy die with left over scraps from the adalene paper pad and thought it would be perfect to lay across the the top of the lace.

I decorated the inside to compliment the front of the card.

I cut one of the square panels from the posydoodles square die and again stamped up some of the sentiments from the super sentiments stamp set.

New Anything Goes Challenge at Ally's Angels

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a good week and that you are all well. It's been a very wet day here today, but I'm not complaining as the garden needs it with all the hot weather we have had lately.

I'm just popping in to share a card I made for the new challenge at Ally's Angels. Our theme as always is ........

Anything Goes

For my card this month, I have coloured up one of my older maggies and she is called 'Tilda with Bow Knot'. I have used distress reinkers to colour her.

The lovely swirly stamp around the edges of Tilda is from the Stempelglede Vintage Garden stamp set.

I have kept the colours quite soft and opted for grey and pink (my favourite colour combo).

DI list:
Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Dungarees, Hat and Shoes: Hickory Smoke, Black Soot
Top and Flower: Victorian Velvet

Tucked underneath the image is some cheese cloth.

Both dies have been cut twice, once in white card and the seond time in coordintating papers to give some dimension.

The flowers are from my stash and I've tucked a beautiful diamante heart charm underneath the stamens at the bottom.

The lucky winner of the challenge will win this lovely prize:

Let's Hear it for The Boys - New Challenge at Creative Inspirations

Morning everyone,

I hope you are all well.

Today we have a new challenge beginning at Creative Inspirations and our theme for this month is....

Let's Hear it for the Boys!
Last month it was all about the ladies so it's only fair to dedicate this month's challenge to the males! Birthday or Christmas Cards are just some ideas.

Male cards are my least favourite to make. I really lack imagination when it comes to anything male, however, I decided to make card for Father's Day.

I have added links the materials I have used at the bottom of this post, just click on the pictures to be taken directly to the product.

I coloured up a Lili of the Valley stamp called 'The Work Bench' and painted it with distress reinkers.

The shape of the card was cut with a Sue Wilson double pierced square frame die and I cut a smaller frame and added some foam tape to give it some height to sit over the top of the image.

The papers are from Polkadoodles, I used a digis set, which I can't find, however papers from the peeling paint paper pad would look absolutely gorgeous.

The rosette is a digis also from Polkadoodles which I printed onto coordinating paper and added some text.

To finish the card off I added some some silver candy and die cut a couple of tools.

This month's prize is from our third brand new sponsor Di's Digi Stamps who is offering the winner a $6 gift voucher.

Take care and thank you for popping in.

Sunshine Delights Pretty Easel Card coloured with Distress Reinkers

Hi everyone,

Happy 1st June.

Today I'm back today to share some more Polkadoodles inspiration.

For my card his time I have coloured up one of the beautiful new Sunshine Delights digis called Winnie Sunshine. She is available as a black and white or pre-coloured image. I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her, isn't she gorgeous? She is so perfect for spring/summer time cards.

She is coloured with my trusty distress reinkers as I wanted to create a softer look. Unfortuntley it doesn't show on the pic, but I have used a clear wink of stella pen on the umbrella and flowers to give them some subtle sparkle. I can't seem to make a card without using some gorgeous frantage and opted for the shabby white this time.

I used some delicious papers from the  timeless rose paper pad and the zesty lemon paper is from the winnie sugar sprinkles paper heaven 4 bundle. I've distressed the edges of the papers with a distressing tool.

The elegant glorious border die has been cut twice, as I wanted to give it some depth. I cut it once in white card and secondly in the pretty lemon paper and glued them together along the bottom leaving the top free.

That's all from me today. We would love to see your Polkadoodles creations on our facebook page.

Thank you for dropping by.

Happy crafting:)

Create an Easel Card using Prismacolor Pencils and Dies

Hi everyone,

Happy Bank Holiday Monday. It is forecast to be another beautiful day here in the south of the U.K, I hope it is wherever you are.

Today I am sharing another Polkadoodles card to hopefully inspire you.

This week I have stamped up the very elegant Primrose stamp from the Darling Buds collection (she is also available as a black and white digis), but this time I have coloured her with Prismacolor pencils, I haven't coloured with pencils for years, so you will have to excuse my colouring.

I stamped her onto kraft card, sorry I don't know the make of it, but it was a little dark when it came to colouring the skin, I think I would prefer a lighter shade of kraft. I personally don't think the skin turned out very well. I didn't use any solvent to blend the colours, I used the burnishing techique which involes layering different shades of coloured pencils. To begin with I lightly covered the area with the lightestest colour pencils and then started adding the darker colours to add more depth, but each time I would go back over with the lightest shade over the top.

Colour list:
Skin: 945, 947, 948, 1080
Hair: 947, 1085,1094
Dress: 901, 903, 919,1027, 1103
Flowers: 993, 994, 1018
Leaves: 912, 989, 1091

To finish off, I sprinkled on some shabby white frantage around the outside of the image.

Frantage Shabby White Embossing Enamel by Stampendous

The papers I used are from the Eden Jane Plain Paper 1 and Eden Jane Paper 3 digis collection.

To create the pretty trellis on each side of the card, I die cut the oval trellis die onto brown card, just once and cut it in half. I dipped it into my clear versamark stamp pad, sprinkled it with shabby pink frantage and heat set it with my heat gun.

I die cut the leaves using the super sprigs die and left over scraps from the blue paper, and tucked them under the flowers.

That's all from me today.

Thank you for popping in.

Take care and stay safe.
